• August 7th Midnight : Florida Scheduled Maintenance
Dear Clients,
Saturday, August 7, 2010 between 12:00 AM to 3:00 AM EST our Florida provider will be performing a scheduled network maintenance.
The Network Administrators will replace a memory module in one of the edge routers and complete maintenance that will increase the capacity between the core routers and distribution switches. Additionally, fail over testing will also be done to the core infrastructure. We expect some instability such as short downtimes, higher then usual latency, packet loss and disconnections during this maintenance window.

• August 9th 8:15 AM EST: Columbus, OH IP Change *Important*
Dear Clients,
We thrive on giving you the best service possible and we are currently upgrading our systems to better serve you.
This system upgrade requires different network and hardware needs which means that we have to change the Columbus voice server address (IP).
When will this happen?
- We will be moving all Columbus voice servers to their new IP on August 9th at around 8:15AM EST
What does it mean?
- The IP addresses of the Columbus voice servers will change
- Your port and hostname will remain the same
- All your server settings will remain the same
- For those who have a custom hostname on their server; the name will point to the correct IP after the move, but if you cannot connect we recommend using the direct numeric server IP address for about twenty four hours then you can go back to using your custom hostname.
- We expect about 45 minutes of downtime and/or instability to complete this move
What will be my new IP address?:
173.45.88.123 (vent91.light-speed.com) will change to 173.244.182.240
173.45.88.124(vent92.light-speed.com) will change to 173.244.182.241

• June 17th 4:00 PM : Ventrilo Windows 7 Issues
Dear Clients,
We have received an email from the owners of Ventrilo stating that they have found a fix for the users who have been having issues while using the Windows 7 operating system and Ventrilo. There has been a known bug that would cause audio to become buffered and get delayed causing a large group of sounds to all come at once.
We have created a guide for users to follow that will correct the issue. The link to the guide is here:

We've recently detected a routing issue within Copenhagen, Denmark.

Vent2 is currently under DDOS attack, our provider had to null route the IP so it does not affect the network. They will remove the null route in an hour and hopefully the DDOS attack will be gone. We have enabled the redundant server feature for FREE until this problem is resolved.

Over the past few months our Denmark provider has been experiencing monthly network issues which have caused service disruptions. We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused. We thrive in giving the best service as possible and the monthly issues we are having in Denmark are unacceptable so we will be changing connection provider for our Denmark location.
When will this happen?
- We will be moving all servers to their new home on June 23rd at around 10:00PM EST (4:00AM CEST)

UPDATE JUNE 7th 10:45 AM EST: This machine went down unexpectedly again, We suspect an hardware failure, we are investigating to find the cause and will probably schedule a maintenance to change the part at fault or replace the whole server. Thank you for your patience during this situation
UPDATE: On the last machine crash our provider replaced the RAM, they believe this was the cause of the crashes. We will keep monitoring the machine closely.

There is currently a network issue affecting the Sydney network, some users might experience disconnections, unusual latency and packet loss. The provider is aware of the problem and working on a solution.
UPDATE: These network issues are caused by multiple DDOS attacks on our Sydney provider network. Only the international traffic is disrupted by this problem. Our provider automated anti-DDOS system is mitigating the attacks but the users connecting from outside Australia may experience disconnections and unusual lag.

Teamspeak is releasing TS3 Server Beta 23 as well as TS3 Client Beta 21 ***within the next 24 to 48 hours***. Unfortunately the new TS3 Beta Client 21 will ONLY be fully compatible with the new Beta Server 23.
What does it mean?
- We will be upgrading all servers to TS3 SERVER BETA 23 as soon as possible after the release
- You will experience a few minutes of downtime in the next 24 to 48 hours while we perform the upgrade
- You and your users will need to upgrade your TS3 client to be able to connect to the upgraded server

The machine hosting vent14.light-speed.com stopped responding properly, we are investigating the cause and will update this news post as soon as we have new information.
UPDATE 10:30 AM EST: We found out that the hard disk is broken, we are in the process of replacing it, we expect about 3-4hours of downtime. Sorry for the inconveniences
UPDATE: 1:45 PM EST: The hard disk is now replaced and the operating system is reinstalled, we are now proceeding with the setup and restoration of the backups.

Dear Clients,
We are aware of problem affecting the machine hosting ts29 and vent57 causing random disocnnection.
We are investigating with our provider and we will update this news post as soon as we have new information.
UPDATE 27th 9:00 AM EST: We did not experience abnormal drops in the past 15 hours+, we will keep investigating and monitoring this machine closely.
UPDATE 28th: We did not detect any new abnormal disconnections in the past day, we will keep monitoring it closely.
